About Oilstone
Over 250 pastors equipped and mobilized
Ten years ago, it dawned on us...
Too many lead pastors were struggling to lead their teams, their churches, and themselves in ways that honoured God and would build healthy disciple-making churches.
Ministry burnout was rapidly increasing. Too many assistant pastors and staff were leaving––not for another position, but leaving ministry altogether. Disciple-making was becoming the sole responsibility of university campus ministries, rather than the church. Churches were stagnating or declining and seminary enrolments were dropping. The only thing on the rise was pastors either behaving badly or avoiding the challenge to lead altogether.
God used this grief to inspire me to co-found Oilstone with Rev Dr Peter Moore. See below.

Our program seeks to inspire pastors to lead fruitfully, constructively challenge default behaviors, equip pastors with practical skills and tools, encourage their hearts, and model 'good' leadership.

Our values mean we strive to do this by providing leadership equipping that:
-
is theologically grounded
-
is about practical skills
-
stretches experienced pastors, refreshing and sharpening their leadership skills
-
utilizes action learning applied in real-time church situations.
Over the past 9 years, Oilstone has equipped over 150 pastors and ministry leaders across Australia to exercise wise leadership to multiply their impact on making disciple-makers and growing God's kingdom.

The Oilstone program now constitutes one of three core pillars of: The Reach Australia Development Program, where another 100+ lead pastors have been equipped and mobilized.
